Biography
Sanjeev Kumar

Sanjeev Kumar is a writer/director based in New York City whose work explores diaspora, identity, and family through surrealist stories rooted in the Asian American experience. Drawing from his own experiences growing up between cultures, his films examine themes of migration, assimilation, belonging, and the invisible forces that shape who we become.
 

His debut short film, ANALOG, screened at multiple film festivals across the United States, including Richmond International Film Festival, Washington West Film Festival, Atlanta Indian Film Festival, Tigertail Asian Film Festival, and DisOrient Asian American Film Festival. The film also received support from the Seed&Spark Patron Circle Grant. He is currently developing several new projects, including STINKY LUNCH, a retelling of a classic immigrant narrative about cultural shame and belonging, and BROTHERS, an intimate drama exploring family, expectation, and the ways love can condition us into becoming people we never chose to be.
